Barangay Panal

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Panal is one of the administrative divisions of City of Tabaco in Albay, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Panal had a population of 3,505. This made it the 15th largest of 47 barangays in City of Tabaco by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Panal accounted for approximately 2.49% of the total population of City of Tabaco, which stood at 140,961 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Panal changed from 3,317 to 3,505, a shift of +5.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Tabaco. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Panal as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Tabaco is a city comprising 47 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Panal, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Albay, which contains 720 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Panal ranks 93rd by 2020 population. Albay is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Like every Philippine barangay, Barangay Panal is led by an elected Punong Barangay (barangay captain) supported by seven Sangguniang Barangay members (kagawads), an SK Chairperson, a Barangay Secretary, and a Barangay Treasurer.
