Barangay Magsaysay

Barangay Magsaysay is a mid-sized barangay in the city of City of Tabuk, located in the province of Kalinga, in the CAR region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Magsaysay had a population of 4,921. This made it the 5th largest of 43 barangays in City of Tabuk by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Magsaysay accounted for approximately 4.07% of the total population of City of Tabuk, which stood at 121,033 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Magsaysay moving from 4,072 residents to 4,921 residents, an intercensal change of +20.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Magsaysay as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Tabuk is a city comprising 43 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Magsaysay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Kalinga, which contains 153 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Magsaysay ranks 5th by 2020 population. Kalinga is classified as a 3rd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Like every Philippine barangay, Barangay Magsaysay is led by an elected Punong Barangay (barangay captain) supported by seven Sangguniang Barangay members (kagawads), an SK Chairperson, a Barangay Secretary, and a Barangay Treasurer. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
