Barangay New Lagao

Barangay New Lagao is a mid-sized barangay in the City of Tacurong, located in the province of Sultan Kudarat, in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay New Lagao had a population of 3,683. This made it the 11th largest of 20 barangays in City of Tacurong by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay New Lagao accounted for approximately 3.37% of the total population of City of Tacurong, which stood at 109,319 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay New Lagao changed from 2,795 to 3,683, a shift of +31.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Tacurong. Barangay New Lagao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Tacurong is a city comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay New Lagao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
