Barangay Magugpo East

Barangay Magugpo East is a very large barangay in the City of Tagum, located in the province of Davao Del Norte, in the Davao Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Magugpo East had a population of 15,770. This made it the 6th largest of 23 barangays in City of Tagum by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Magugpo East accounted for approximately 5.32% of the total population of City of Tagum, which stood at 296,202 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 14,427 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 15,770 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Magugpo East is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Tagum is a city comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Magugpo East, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Davao Del Norte, which contains 223 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Magugpo East ranks 13th by 2020 population.
