Barangay Cansojong

Classified as a very large barangay, Barangay Cansojong is one of the administrative divisions of City of Talisay in Cebu, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cansojong had a population of 17,364. This made it the 5th largest of 22 barangays in City of Talisay by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Cansojong accounted for approximately 6.60% of the total population of City of Talisay, which stood at 263,048 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cansojong moving from 16,016 residents to 17,364 residents, an intercensal change of +8.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Cansojong is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Talisay is a city comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cansojong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cansojong ranks 11th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
