Barangay Calingcuan

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Calingcuan is one of the administrative divisions of City of Tarlac in Tarlac, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Calingcuan had a population of 3,679. This made it the 38th largest of 76 barangays in City of Tarlac by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Calingcuan accounted for approximately 0.95% of the total population of City of Tarlac, which stood at 385,398 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Calingcuan changed from 3,353 to 3,679, a shift of +9.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Tarlac. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Calingcuan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Tarlac is a city comprising 76 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Calingcuan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Tarlac, which contains 511 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Calingcuan ranks 111th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
