Barangay Ayusan Sur

Situated in City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Barangay Ayusan Sur is one of 39 barangays that make up the city within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ayusan Sur had a population of 1,116. This made it the 21st largest of 39 barangays in City of Vigan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Ayusan Sur accounted for approximately 2.07% of the total population of City of Vigan, which stood at 53,935 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,162 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,116 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Ayusan Sur is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Vigan is a city comprising 39 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ayusan Sur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
