Barangay I (Pob.)

Barangay I (Pob.) forms part of City of Vigan, a city in Ilocos Sur, and is classified as a very small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay I (Pob.) had a population of 393. This made it the 38th largest of 39 barangays in City of Vigan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay I (Pob.) accounted for approximately 0.73% of the total population of City of Vigan, which stood at 53,935 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 567 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 393 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -30.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay I (Pob.) is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Vigan is a city comprising 39 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay I (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Ilocos Sur, which contains 768 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay I (Pob.) ranks 651st by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
