Situated in Claver, Surigao Del Norte, Barangay Daywan is one of 14 barangays that make up the municipality within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Daywan had a population of 3,047. This made it the 6th largest of 14 barangays in Claver by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Daywan accounted for approximately 8.46% of the total population of Claver, which stood at 36,033 in the same census year.
