Barangay Alimoan

Situated in Claveria, Cagayan, Barangay Alimoan is one of 41 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Alimoan had a population of 538. This made it the 26th largest of 41 barangays in Claveria by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Alimoan accounted for approximately 1.69% of the total population of Claveria, which stood at 31,900 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 548 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 538 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.8%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Alimoan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Claveria is a municipality comprising 41 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Alimoan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
