Barangay Poblacion

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Poblacion is one of the administrative divisions of Concepcion in Romblon, MIMAROPA Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 866. This made it the 1st largest of 9 barangays in Concepcion by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 24.32% of the total population of Concepcion, which stood at 3,561 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion changed from 910 to 866, a shift of -4.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Concepcion. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Concepcion is a municipality comprising 9 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
