Barangay Sampong

Barangay Sampong is a very small barangay in the municipality of Concepcion, located in the province of Romblon, in the MIMAROPA Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sampong had a population of 333. This made it the 5th largest of 9 barangays in Concepcion by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sampong accounted for approximately 9.35% of the total population of Concepcion, which stood at 3,561 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sampong moving from 397 residents to 333 residents, an intercensal change of -16.1%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sampong as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Concepcion is a municipality comprising 9 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sampong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
