Barangay Macatunao

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Macatunao is one of the administrative divisions of Concepcion in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Macatunao had a population of 1,443. This made it the 13th largest of 25 barangays in Concepcion by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Macatunao accounted for approximately 3.23% of the total population of Concepcion, which stood at 44,633 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,592 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,443 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -9.4%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Macatunao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Concepcion is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Macatunao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Macatunao ranks 476th by 2020 population.
