Barangay Centro Poblacion

Barangay Centro Poblacion is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Culasi, located in the province of Antique, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Centro Poblacion had a population of 2,178. This made it the 4th largest of 44 barangays in Culasi by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Centro Poblacion accounted for approximately 4.90% of the total population of Culasi, which stood at 44,494 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Centro Poblacion changed from 2,477 to 2,178, a shift of -12.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Culasi. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Centro Poblacion as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Culasi is a municipality comprising 44 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Centro Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Antique, which contains 590 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Centro Poblacion ranks 50th by 2020 population.
