Barangay Calape

Barangay Calape is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Daanbantayan, located in the province of Cebu, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Calape had a population of 3,218. This made it the 15th largest of 20 barangays in Daanbantayan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Calape accounted for approximately 3.44% of the total population of Daanbantayan, which stood at 93,502 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Calape moving from 2,233 residents to 3,218 residents, an intercensal change of +44.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Calape is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Daanbantayan is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Calape, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
