Barangay Sandayong Sur

Situated in Danao City, Cebu, Barangay Sandayong Sur is one of 42 barangays that make up the city within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sandayong Sur had a population of 3,296. This made it the 16th largest of 42 barangays in Danao City by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Sandayong Sur accounted for approximately 2.11% of the total population of Danao City, which stood at 156,321 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,069 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,296 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sandayong Sur as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Danao City is a city comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sandayong Sur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Sandayong Sur ranks 292nd by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
