Barangay Togonon

Situated in Danao City, Cebu, Barangay Togonon is one of 42 barangays that make up the city within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Togonon had a population of 1,664. This made it the 22nd largest of 42 barangays in Danao City by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Togonon accounted for approximately 1.06% of the total population of Danao City, which stood at 156,321 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,619 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,664 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Togonon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Danao City is a city comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Togonon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Togonon ranks 616th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
