Barangay Binitayan

Barangay Binitayan forms part of Daraga, a municipality in Albay, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Binitayan had a population of 4,643. This made it the 7th largest of 54 barangays in Daraga by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. The barangay recorded 4,447 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,643 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Binitayan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Daraga is a municipality comprising 54 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Binitayan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Albay, which contains 720 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Binitayan ranks 48th by 2020 population.
