Barangay Bulak

Situated in Dauin, Negros Oriental, Barangay Bulak is one of 23 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bulak had a population of 1,829. This made it the 4th largest of 23 barangays in Dauin by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bulak accounted for approximately 6.09% of the total population of Dauin, which stood at 30,018 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bulak changed from 1,576 to 1,829, a shift of +16.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Dauin. Barangay Bulak is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dauin is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bulak, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Oriental, which contains 557 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bulak ranks 301st by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
