Barangay Cancohoy

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Cancohoy is one of the administrative divisions of Del Carmen in Surigao Del Norte, Caraga, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cancohoy had a population of 888. This made it the 11th largest of 20 barangays in Del Carmen by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cancohoy accounted for approximately 4.41% of the total population of Del Carmen, which stood at 20,127 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cancohoy moving from 966 residents to 888 residents, an intercensal change of -8.1%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cancohoy as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
