Barangay San Jose (Pob.)

Barangay San Jose (Pob.) forms part of Del Carmen, a municipality in Surigao Del Norte, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Jose (Pob.) had a population of 1,853. This made it the 2nd largest of 20 barangays in Del Carmen by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Jose (Pob.) accounted for approximately 9.21% of the total population of Del Carmen, which stood at 20,127 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay San Jose (Pob.) changed from 1,859 to 1,853, a shift of -0.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Del Carmen. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Jose (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Del Carmen is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Jose (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
