Barangay Lawang

Barangay Lawang is a very small barangay in the municipality of Dilasag, located in the province of Aurora, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Lawang had a population of 473. This made it the 11th largest of 11 barangays in Dilasag by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lawang accounted for approximately 2.77% of the total population of Dilasag, which stood at 17,102 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Lawang moving from 511 residents to 473 residents, an intercensal change of -7.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lawang as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dilasag is a municipality comprising 11 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lawang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Aurora, which contains 151 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Lawang ranks 135th by 2020 population. Aurora is classified as a 3rd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
