Barangay Batuan

Barangay Batuan is a small barangay in the municipality of Dueñas, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Batuan had a population of 1,512. This made it the 3rd largest of 47 barangays in Dueñas by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Batuan accounted for approximately 4.37% of the total population of Dueñas, which stood at 34,597 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Batuan moving from 1,442 residents to 1,512 residents, an intercensal change of +4.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Batuan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dueñas is a municipality comprising 47 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Batuan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
