Barangay Candao (Pob.)

Barangay Candao (Pob.) is a very small barangay in the municipality of Dulag, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Candao (Pob.) had a population of 462. This made it the 40th largest of 45 barangays in Dulag by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Candao (Pob.) accounted for approximately 0.94% of the total population of Dulag, which stood at 48,992 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Candao (Pob.) changed from 555 to 462, a shift of -16.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Dulag. Barangay Candao (Pob.) is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dulag is a municipality comprising 45 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Candao (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
