Barangay Consolacion

Situated in Dumalag, Capiz, Barangay Consolacion is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Consolacion had a population of 2,279. This made it the 5th largest of 19 barangays in Dumalag by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Consolacion accounted for approximately 7.57% of the total population of Dumalag, which stood at 30,098 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Consolacion moving from 2,346 residents to 2,279 residents, an intercensal change of -2.9%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Consolacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dumalag is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Consolacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
