Barangay San Jose

Barangay San Jose is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Enrique B. Magalona, located in the province of Negros Occidental, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Jose had a population of 3,402. This made it the 5th largest of 23 barangays in Enrique B. Magalona by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Jose accounted for approximately 5.29% of the total population of Enrique B. Magalona, which stood at 64,290 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Jose moving from 2,576 residents to 3,402 residents, an intercensal change of +32.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Jose as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
