Barangay Alambique (Pob.)

Situated in Gigaquit, Surigao Del Norte, Barangay Alambique (Pob.) is one of 13 barangays that make up the municipality within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Alambique (Pob.) had a population of 2,209. This made it the 3rd largest of 13 barangays in Gigaquit by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Alambique (Pob.) accounted for approximately 10.11% of the total population of Gigaquit, which stood at 21,849 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,000 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,209 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Alambique (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Gigaquit is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Alambique (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
