Barangay Magdug

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Magdug is one of the administrative divisions of Governor Generoso in Davao Oriental, Davao Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Magdug had a population of 2,414. This made it the 11th largest of 20 barangays in Governor Generoso by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Magdug accounted for approximately 4.03% of the total population of Governor Generoso, which stood at 59,891 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Magdug moving from 2,307 residents to 2,414 residents, an intercensal change of +4.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Magdug as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Governor Generoso is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Magdug, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
