Barangay Monserrat

Barangay Monserrat forms part of Governor Generoso, a municipality in Davao Oriental, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Monserrat had a population of 2,004. This made it the 14th largest of 20 barangays in Governor Generoso by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Monserrat accounted for approximately 3.35% of the total population of Governor Generoso, which stood at 59,891 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Monserrat moving from 1,833 residents to 2,004 residents, an intercensal change of +9.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Monserrat as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
