Barangay Beriran

Situated in Gubat, Sorsogon, Barangay Beriran is one of 42 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Beriran had a population of 947. This made it the 33rd largest of 42 barangays in Gubat by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Beriran accounted for approximately 1.57% of the total population of Gubat, which stood at 60,294 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,007 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 947 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -6.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Beriran as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Gubat is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Beriran, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Sorsogon, which contains 541 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Beriran ranks 345th by 2020 population.
