Barangay Cabigaan

Situated in Gubat, Sorsogon, Barangay Cabigaan is one of 42 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cabigaan had a population of 1,069. This made it the 28th largest of 42 barangays in Gubat by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cabigaan accounted for approximately 1.77% of the total population of Gubat, which stood at 60,294 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,116 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,069 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.2%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cabigaan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Gubat is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cabigaan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
