Barangay Bacong

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Bacong is one of the administrative divisions of Guimbal in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bacong had a population of 497. This made it the 28th largest of 33 barangays in Guimbal by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bacong accounted for approximately 1.42% of the total population of Guimbal, which stood at 35,022 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bacong moving from 426 residents to 497 residents, an intercensal change of +16.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bacong as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Guimbal is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bacong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
