Situated in Gumaca, Quezon, Barangay Lagyo is one of 59 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Lagyo had a population of 2,079. This made it the 15th largest of 59 barangays in Gumaca by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lagyo accounted for approximately 2.89% of the total population of Gumaca, which stood at 71,942 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Lagyo moving from 2,025 residents to 2,079 residents, an intercensal change of +2.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lagyo as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Gumaca is a municipality comprising 59 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lagyo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
