Barangay Balutakay

Barangay Balutakay is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Hagonoy, located in the province of Davao Del Sur, in the Davao Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balutakay had a population of 3,138. This made it the 8th largest of 21 barangays in Hagonoy by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balutakay accounted for approximately 5.51% of the total population of Hagonoy, which stood at 56,919 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balutakay moving from 3,359 residents to 3,138 residents, an intercensal change of -6.6%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Balutakay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Hagonoy is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balutakay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
