Barangay San Agustin

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay San Agustin is one of the administrative divisions of Hagonoy in Bulacan, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Agustin had a population of 10,387. This made it the 1st largest of 26 barangays in Hagonoy by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Agustin accounted for approximately 7.78% of the total population of Hagonoy, which stood at 133,448 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay San Agustin changed from 10,336 to 10,387, a shift of +0.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Hagonoy. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Agustin as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Hagonoy is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Agustin, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bulacan, which contains 569 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Agustin ranks 87th by 2020 population. Barangay San Agustin is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth.
