This made it the 14th largest of 26 barangays in Hagonoy by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santo Rosario accounted for approximately 3.79% of the total population of Hagonoy, which stood at 133,448 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 5,251 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 5,052 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -3.8%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Santo Rosario is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
