Barangay Cambatong

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Cambatong is one of the administrative divisions of Hinatuan in Surigao Del Sur, Caraga, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cambatong had a population of 2,161. This made it the 7th largest of 24 barangays in Hinatuan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cambatong accounted for approximately 4.93% of the total population of Hinatuan, which stood at 43,841 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cambatong changed from 2,003 to 2,161, a shift of +7.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Hinatuan. Barangay Cambatong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Hinatuan is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cambatong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Surigao Del Sur, which contains 309 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cambatong ranks 94th by 2020 population.
