Barangay Libertad

Barangay Libertad is a mid-sized barangay in the city of Island Garden City of Samal, located in the province of Davao Del Norte, in the Davao Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Libertad had a population of 2,591. This made it the 16th largest of 46 barangays in Island Garden City of Samal by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Libertad accounted for approximately 2.22% of the total population of Island Garden City of Samal, which stood at 116,771 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Libertad moving from 2,382 residents to 2,591 residents, an intercensal change of +8.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Libertad is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
