Barangay Santa Cruz

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Santa Cruz is one of the administrative divisions of Island Garden City of Samal in Davao Del Norte, Davao Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Santa Cruz had a population of 4,095. This made it the 6th largest of 46 barangays in Island Garden City of Samal by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Santa Cruz accounted for approximately 3.51% of the total population of Island Garden City of Samal, which stood at 116,771 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,814 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,095 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Santa Cruz as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Island Garden City of Samal is a city comprising 46 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santa Cruz, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Davao Del Norte, which contains 223 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Santa Cruz ranks 75th by 2020 population.
