Barangay Papan Este

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Papan Este is one of the administrative divisions of Jones in Isabela, Cagayan Valley, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Papan Este had a population of 630. This made it the 27th largest of 42 barangays in Jones by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Papan Este accounted for approximately 1.38% of the total population of Jones, which stood at 45,628 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 736 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 630 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -14.4%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Papan Este is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Jones is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Papan Este, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Isabela, which contains 1,055 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Papan Este ranks 863rd by 2020 population.
