Barangay Alegria

Barangay Alegria forms part of Julita, a municipality in Leyte, and is classified as a very small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Alegria had a population of 414. This made it the 15th largest of 26 barangays in Julita by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Alegria accounted for approximately 2.65% of the total population of Julita, which stood at 15,598 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Alegria moving from 428 residents to 414 residents, an intercensal change of -3.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Alegria as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Julita is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Alegria, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
