Situated in Julita, Leyte, Barangay Balante is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

This made it the 20th largest of 26 barangays in Julita by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balante accounted for approximately 2.08% of the total population of Julita, which stood at 15,598 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balante moving from 341 residents to 324 residents, an intercensal change of -5.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community.
