Barangay Briones

Situated in Kalibo, Aklan, Barangay Briones is one of 16 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Briones had a population of 1,296. This made it the 16th largest of 16 barangays in Kalibo by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Briones accounted for approximately 1.45% of the total population of Kalibo, which stood at 89,127 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,321 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,296 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.9%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Briones is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Kalibo is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Briones, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Aklan, which contains 327 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Briones ranks 179th by 2020 population.
