Barangay Cayontor

Situated in Kauswagan, Lanao Del Norte, Barangay Cayontor is one of 13 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cayontor had a population of 670. This made it the 13th largest of 13 barangays in Kauswagan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cayontor accounted for approximately 2.77% of the total population of Kauswagan, which stood at 24,193 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cayontor moving from 902 residents to 670 residents, an intercensal change of -25.7%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cayontor as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
