Barangay Sampaguita

Barangay Sampaguita is a small barangay in the municipality of Kibawe, located in the province of Bukidnon, in the Northern Mindanao region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sampaguita had a population of 1,559. This made it the 14th largest of 23 barangays in Kibawe by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sampaguita accounted for approximately 3.72% of the total population of Kibawe, which stood at 41,897 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sampaguita moving from 1,431 residents to 1,559 residents, an intercensal change of +8.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Sampaguita is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Kibawe is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sampaguita, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bukidnon, which contains 464 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Sampaguita ranks 308th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
