Barangay Gimenarat West

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Gimenarat West is one of the administrative divisions of La Paz in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Gimenarat West had a population of 407. This made it the 21st largest of 35 barangays in La Paz by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Gimenarat West accounted for approximately 2.12% of the total population of La Paz, which stood at 19,174 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 425 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 407 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.2%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Gimenarat West is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

La Paz is a municipality comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Gimenarat West, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
