Barangay Moroboro

Situated in La Paz, Leyte, Barangay Moroboro is one of 35 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Moroboro had a population of 346. This made it the 24th largest of 35 barangays in La Paz by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Moroboro accounted for approximately 1.80% of the total population of La Paz, which stood at 19,174 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 331 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 346 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Moroboro is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

La Paz is a municipality comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Moroboro, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Moroboro ranks 1328th by 2020 population.
