Barangay Poblacion District 2

Barangay Poblacion District 2 forms part of La Paz, a municipality in Leyte, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion District 2 had a population of 824. This made it the 6th largest of 35 barangays in La Paz by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion District 2 accounted for approximately 4.30% of the total population of La Paz, which stood at 19,174 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion District 2 changed from 832 to 824, a shift of -1.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in La Paz. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion District 2 as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

La Paz is a municipality comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion District 2, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
