Barangay Valentina

Barangay Valentina is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of La Paz, located in the province of Agusan Del Sur, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Valentina had a population of 2,595. This made it the 3rd largest of 15 barangays in La Paz by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Valentina accounted for approximately 8.38% of the total population of La Paz, which stood at 30,969 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Valentina moving from 1,942 residents to 2,595 residents, an intercensal change of +33.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Valentina is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

La Paz is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Valentina, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
