Barangay Halilan

Situated in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, Barangay Halilan is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Halilan had a population of 2,301. This made it the 15th largest of 19 barangays in Lake Sebu by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Halilan accounted for approximately 2.83% of the total population of Lake Sebu, which stood at 81,221 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Halilan moving from 2,406 residents to 2,301 residents, an intercensal change of -4.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Halilan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
